My name is Hilary Jones, & I am married to Jonathan Jones, & together we have 4 children: Eli, 18, Madi Grace, 14, Ella, 13, & Evy Mae 11. I am the Office Supervisor @ Wellstar Orthopedics Sports Medicine as well as General Surgery here in LaGrange & Columbus. I am a Provisional Member of LaGrange’s Junior Service League & volunteer for a number of different organizations within our community. God presented me with my life’s purpose a couple of years ago & that is to help & serve others. He led me to JSL which has opened so many doors for opportunities to put my purpose to work. I will soon begin my training as a CASA Volunteer & am very excited to begin that journey. Being a positive role model & a person that can help make that difficult process a little better can make those children feel a little more at ease & feel a sense of comfort that they may not have ever felt before. I may not make a difference in every person that I come into contact with, but I always love, give, & help with my entire heart.

About Hilary Jones

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

My husband, Jonathan, is the Sales Representative @ the local concrete plant, Argos Ready Mix. We also have a farm called J&H Farms. We farm hay, offer farm equipment repair, & pretty much anything else that is farm related! Our children definitely keep us busy! All 3 daughters keep us on the road with tournaments, practices, & games. Our son, Eli graduated from Troup High School last year & is now officially in the work force. We have 6 other children that I failed to mention. They’re our non-humans, Buddy, Birdie, Riggs, Jolene, George, & Binx, our only cat. We have a zoo. It’s ok, you guys can just say it!

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

I absolutely love my current job as the Office Supervisor at Wellstar. I have over 14 years of experience in the medical office field & enjoy sharing the knowledge & experiences that I have encountered with my employees to hopefully help them learn & excel in their roles as well. I could not ask for a better work family as well as a wonderful Manager.

Q: What advice would you give to people?

Always stay humble and kind.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

I pray to see all of my children healthy & successful, & for more traveling for my husband & me! God has already blessed me with so many things that it would be selfish to ask & pray for more, but if He’s willing to grant more answered prayers, I pray one day for an advancement into a management position as well as more volunteer opportunities within the community.

Hilary Jones & Our Community

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

Venucci’s, Taste of Lemon, Nutwood, & PaBella’s Winery.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?

I have lived in LaGrange my entire life & have worked since I was 16 years old. 13 if babysitting counts!

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

The most interesting person I’ve known here in LaGrange ever since I was a child is Sharon Williams. Sharon is an employee @ Emory at LaGrange & has been there for as long as I can remember. Sharon is one of the most kind-hearted, giving, loving, & selfless people that you will ever meet. She loves her family to both ends of the Earth & back, & will literally do anything to help someone in need. If you haven’t ever met Sharon you are truly missing out on one amazing lady.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?

The former local appliance store, Friendly Applicance, on Miller Street. Some of the older generation refer to that area as “Skeeter Flats”. Friendly Appliance was owned by my great-grandparents, Howell & Ora Lee Arrington, & after they passed, it was given to my Pepaw, Hal Arrington. Even though it is nothing but an old, run-down building now, it used to be a “hot spot” from what I’ve heard. If you needed an appliance or a handyman, you’d call the Arringtons! I still have memories of my brother, Heath, & I, playing & running around the store as kids. I remember the smell, I remember the sound of the ring of the phone, I remember the smell of the work tickets they would write up & hang on the corkboard. I even remember the voices of the employees that worked there. It’s crazy how you remember things like they were yesterday but in reality, they were over 30 years ago!

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

I absolutely love walking downtown & around the square! Up until this past Christmas, I never had or made the time to just take a walk & take in all of the beauty LaGrange has. Sometimes it’s the simple things that excite me!

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

I would choose to lunch with Princess Kate Middleton at the beautiful PaBella Winery for some fabulous wine slushies overlooking the gorgeous country scenery. I would love to have an afternoon filled with stories of her charity work as a philanthropist & stories of Princess Diana that she’s learned from Prince William. With volunteering being my passion, I feel that we could connect & have lots to talk about & ideas to share. I also wouldn’t mind seeing a few pictures stored in her phone of her brother in law, Harry, either. 😉

For Fun

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

The Notebook, Yellowstone.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

I am actually related to the infamous Hatfield family of the feuding Hatfields & McCoys. Ever since I my Memaw told me that, I’ve just thought I’m one tough cookie not to be messed with. LOL

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?

Being a Mom.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

My children. I want to do the best & set positive examples at everything I do & strive to always do the right thing, praying they’ll follow my lead & be the best people that they can be.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?

Family. Love. Happiness.
