My name is Kymber Rainey, I am 30 years old, and I was born and raised in Alabama. I attended college at Troy University in Troy, AL. Once I graduated from there I married my junior high sweetheart, Lance Rainey, and we moved to Blue Ridge Georgia. Shortly after I got an interview in LaGrange, GA and the rest is history! Along with being an artist, I love to dedicate my free time to rescuing dogs. I started fostering February of 2021 and have since fostered and found a home for 12 dogs as of February 2024. While it is incredibly hard to give them up, it’s also incredibly rewarding to find them their “furever” homes! I intend to keep doing it for as long as I can. We have one permanent family member, Rhea, who makes fostering the best! She helps nanny and guide the dogs that come into the home and without her I don’t think I ever would have considered fostering. Still holding out hope that one day the husband agrees to a foster fail so Rhea has a partner.

About Kymber Rainey

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

My family is in Alabama and I lived there most of my life until I graduated college. My dad’s family comes from Brewton, AL and we have a park named after us there. Both my dad and his dad also worked in manufacturing to some degree–guess I’m carrying on that tradition

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

I’ve worked in a variety of settings, the most exciting probably being that I worked on Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. Working on a train was so much fun! Currently I am a Graphic Designer for Mountville Mills and I absolutely love it! I love turning client ideas into tangible products.

Q: What advice would you give to people?

Just go for it. Try it once, if you don’t like it don’t do it again.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

Sitting outside on my land, enjoying watching all my animals live life.
