I’m a LaGrange native who has lived here most of my life. I lived in Athens, Ga for a little over five years where I received a bachelors degree in health promotion (go dawgs!), then worked at a cancer clinic as a phlebotomist, before moving back to LaGrange and receiving a second bachelors degree in nursing from LaGrange College. My husband Matthew and I were married in 2015 and now have three sweet kiddos – Gray (7), Crew (4), and Copeland (6 months). Since 2014 I have worked in various areas of our community as a RN, but have recently taken a break from that to focus on raising our children and growing another passion of mine: photography. Creating lasting memories for others while also expressing my creative side has brought me lots of joy!

About Kelsey Partin

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

My husband, Matthew, is also a Lagrange native. We met in 8th grade at Gardner Newman Middle School. He is the Vice President of Operations for MGroup. We have three children- two boys and one girl. Gray is our oldest and loves all things baseball. Crew is the middle child and is our little comedian. Copeland is 6 months old and is developing her personality every day, but she has already made it clear to all of us that she is definitely the boss ;).

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

I am a registered nurse and a photographer. Currently I am taking a break from nursing while I focus on photography. I love creating lasting memories for so many others in our community through my art.

Q: What advice would you give to people?

Keep in mind this quote when things get tough – “in three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on” – Robert Frost

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

Ideally, I will have grown my photography business enough to be living comfortably while also having the time freedom to be present with my family.

Kelsey Partin & Our Community

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

I really love the Greek Salad and Lasagna from Pizza Villa, it will ALWAYS be a favorite of mine! We also enjoy a Karvelas visit with the family.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?

I have lived here most all of my life (minus my years at UGA). I started working in our community as a young teen as a lifeguard and swim lesson instructor, and I was also a babysitter for several families. I then worked at Elliebelle’s when it first opened (shout out to Holly and Marcia!). After UGA and before LaGrange college nursing, I worked at Mare Sol and C’Sons. Since 2014 I have worked as a RN in our local hospital and most recently have been working to grow my photography business.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

I would have to say Dr. Robert Copeland, and I think many people would agree with me on that.  (what a neat coincidence that we named our own daughter Copeland)

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?

Mansours! I have lots of memories in that store. My parents told me that when i was a little girl and people would ask me where I got my pretty blue eyes, I’d always respond shyly with “Mansours”.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

I love how tight knit it is, and the support so many people come together and show for those hurting in our community.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

I would choose my best friend, Liz (Gore) Barber to have lunch with, because even though we live in the same town we don’t see each other enough and I will always take the opportunity to hang out with her. If Pizza Villa was open for lunch that is definitely where we would meet (she is a fellow PV lover).

For Fun

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

I’m a sucker for Grease! I also grew up loving the show Cops – my mom and I would watch it together. My husband, oldest son and I may or may not have dressed up as an old episode of cops for Halloween one year.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

I am a bonafide night owl, and absolutely am not a morning person. Oh, and I also really love mustard!

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?

My 10 out of 10 is a good morning cup of coffee. It’s an absolute necessity.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

My children inspire me to be better!

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?

My favorite place!
