Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

My husband William Kelley is a General Contractor, specializing in home additions; home repairs; and remodeling. My sons Brandon and Braxton Kelley are employed at Banneker High School where they coach football and teach. I have some beautiful grandchildren, a daughter in law and a daughter in law to be. My loving parents are John and Jimmie Simpson, I have three siblings, two sisters and one brother.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

When I was younger I worked in the health care field as a Nurses Assistant, also worked in textile. Due to the illness of my daughter I had to stop working and be a stay at home mom for a while. Later I was able to go to Cosmetology School and once I graduated I was able to take my daughter to work with me which was a true blessing. We had some trials but through Christ which strengthens me we made it. I’m currently a Licensed Cosmetologist and drive the School Bus for Troup County School System. I’m also a decorator and a Professional Singer and Praise and Worship Leader.

Q: What advice would you give to people?

Never give up, seek God and keep the faith! Remember the scripture says, Seek and ye shall find, knock and the doors shall be opened!
