My name is Nikki Scruggs (Bartlett). I’m happily married to Justin Scruggs. We have 3 beautiful children. Livie Kate (10), Chandler (2) and Clara (10 months old). I grew up in Lagrange, along with my husband, and graduated in 2008 from Troup High School. I’ve been a hairstylist for 11 years and currently work at Lagrange Barbershop and do wedding hair on the side.

About Nikki Scruggs

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

My parents, Eddie and Kim Bartlett both grew up in Lagrange, and own Precision Auto Body. I have one brother, Brad, and sister in law, Ashley. We all grew up in Lagrange along with both sets of my grandparents. My husband and I love being able to raise our 3 children here as well.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

While I was in cosmetology school at West Georgia Tech, I worked Downtown at Mare Sol. I began my career at Kitty’s on Hogansville Road and currently work at Lagrange Barbershop while also doing wedding hair on the side. My favorite part of my job is being a small part of all of those “milestone moments”. I’ve given first haircuts, done prom hair to wedding hair, cuts for senior portraits and proposals, and given clients one last style at the funeral home. Being there for someone during not only their celebrations, but devastations, is what being a community is all about and that will always bring my heart joy!

Q: What advice would you give to people?

Love your family because you only have one and at the end of the day, they’ll always be your rock.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

With 3 kids, I see myself very busy! We love being involved at our church, Rosemont Baptist, spending time on Lake Harding with family, and getting together with friends as often as possible. Of course I will still be cutting hair and making brides beautiful!

Nikki Scruggs & Our Community

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

My all time favorite is Pizza Villa and Fat Daddy’s!

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?

I was born and raised here in Lagrange and have worked here my entire adult life.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

If I had to pick one person, I’d have to say Max McCord. He was the preacher at Rosemont Baptist when I was growing up and has always held a special place in my heart. He’s known my grandparents for many, many years (I won’t say how many), but he’s always meant a lot to my family and I. He also married my husband and I and it meant so much to us for him to be a part of our big day. He never meets a stranger, gives the best advice, and has the very best hugs!

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?

My parents business, Precision Auto Body. It was like a second home to me growing up. When my dad first opened he spent many late nights and weekends there to build a successful business. My mom would bring my brother and I up there sometimes to eat dinner together as a family. My brother, Brad and I loved to play hide and seek because there were so many good places to hide!

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

My favorite thing about our community is how we rally together in times of need. I’ve witnessed it first hand when our youngest daughter was hospitalized. We had so many people reach out to us offering prayers, support, encouragement, and acts of service. It was truly amazing! I know so many others that have faced/are facing tragedies that could say the same!

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

My two very best friends, Meagan Frye and Victoria Martinec. We are always so busy with work and our families that we don’t get to see each other as often as we like. We would probably meet at one of our Mexican restaurants because there’s nothing better than cheese dip and salsa!

For Fun

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

My favorite movies are Steel Magnolias and Fried Green Tomatoes. My favorite TV shows are Greys Anatomy and The Ranch.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

I am by no means a morning person, love a cold Diet Coke in a can, taught myself how to crochet, and I’m obsessed with all things Dolly Parton!

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?

The square cheese at Pizza Villa!

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

My children. They will always be my greatest joy!

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?

The best place!
